hello all from minnesota. just want to thank everyone on here that contributes to this forum. i bought my cb 3 years ago as a replacement for my 04 goldwing. lost that in a divorce. i have been upgrading my cb ever since. i know i will never get the cb to ride like the wing, but im close as i can get without spending 20k. ive have researched this site extensivley. i have done the gm coils the relay and the carb air cutoff mod.

i have also made some mods of my own. ive got forward controls along with the stock controls. ive got handle bar controls for the radio. led lites in the rear. next is a gps mp3 player interface. and eventually cruise control. im a bit of a gadget freek.

anyways i decided to register and to thank you all for the past couple years of help you have given me. soooooo
THANK YOU!!

I'm on the edge of my seat and the suspense is killing me! What kind of CB do you have? You should add it to your signature as it helps everyone when asking tech questions.
Careful with your gadgetry though, the charging systems on the CB is its weak point and adding too much stuff that draws power can have adverse effects on how the bike runs.

yeah i realized i forgot to attach sig. fixed now i think. i got a book with the bike and saw how low the watage was comming out of the alt. so i switched all my lights to led. except the head light of course. i had all kinds of electical probs when i bought it. went thru all the connectors and fuses and either replaced or cleaned what i needed to. replaced the reg soon after that. and actually right now i think i have a bad rotor. i only have 1.2 ohms across the rings. and while running it has only 5 volts or so at the yellow wires. while the black and white wires to the rotor has about 10 volts to it. but the good news after getting it started after being straded at and electronic shop, i made it home 20 miles. i guess the gm coil mod and the relay mod works lol! ill try to post a pic later.

heres a pic of my forward controls. this desighn allows both the stock and the forward option. the fron pivot is a pipe over a harded steel bar. then i welded a 5/8 key stock to the one end to add the foot pegs. the foot pegs i bought from hd. i then welded a flat steel to the one end of the pipe. drilled a hole in the end. then bought some 1" round aluminum stock and drilled a hole all the way thru. got a stainless steel carige bolt and mounted it. took a larger pipe and cut a small piece off it. slit it and added a clamping sleve over the gap. then welded another flat stock to that. made the pivot ends. bent 5/16 round stock for the linkage. then more flat stock mounted to the pinch bolt on the stock lever. and voila. forward controls. i know thers a little more to it, but thats the jist of it. just making it simple is all.

a Montana logger and a Minnesota logger were standing at the bar having a beer. the Montana logger said "man, i had a great day out in the woods. i just got this new saw and it works great! lots of horsepower and a nice long bar, really cut through the wood easy".
the Minnesota logger had a story of his own, saying " i had a great day too. i have had this saw for years, but it has been bored out and has all the high performance parts, and i just got this new chain that stays sharp a lot longer. must have cut a bunch of wood today".
on the end of the bar sat this forlorn logger from North Dakota all sad and dejected. "i had a terrible day in the woods today" he lamented. "i just got this saw that the salesman at the saw shop said would cut the wood like it was nothing. i tried and tried to cut the wood, but i couldn't even cut down one tree! now i am exhausted and have lost a whole day's work. what am i to do?"
the Montana logger said "well, maybe there is something wrong with your saw. let me see it and maybe i can tell you whats wrong?
the NoDak said "ya, that would be great!, here" and hands his saw over. the Montanan takes the saw, gives the starter cord a yank, and the saw barks to life......

the NoDak looked at the Montanan in amazement and stammers "what is that noise it's making?"

those turbo pods are actually rear speakers. i made the pods out of pvc pipe and made screens that fit them. they work as well as a 40 x4 stereo will put out. the bell is from a friend of mine. supposed to keep the gremlins out of the bike. I know its only superstition, but hey, with a 30 year old bike ill welcome anything that wont hurt it and maybe help it lol!
