Wow, 3200 miles, awesome.

Ebay will be best friend. Most of the typical wear and maintenance items are still available for the beast. However, body parts are not and you have to rely on bike breakers and Ebay for those parts.

If you are going to restore to the OEM 4 x4 exhaust, those are as scarce as hen's teeth. New ones have occasionally come up on Ebay but go for over $1000 a set.

It is best to find a used set in decent condition and try to restore. Most of those have surface rust on the headers and can be cleaned up or coated with an aluminum ceramic coating that looks almost like the original chrome.

Howdy, I was always under the impression that the DOHC Honda's were popular over there. I bet parts can be a bitch and shipping!!! I mean damn someones gotta locate all those inner tubes, then find someone wanting to escape Canada, oh wait, sorry that's Cuba. Good luck with the restore.

Install a switch in the hot lead to the headlight. You can probably just clip the running light wire to the front signals.

Is the seat cover or is it the pan that is cracking?

Any upholstery shop can do a cover for you.

Only on occasion will a NOS switch assembly come up on Ebay. Used ones are more common. Most are from the US though.

Pretty strange about the seat pan. My original one is still hanging in there.

Corbin sells seats with their own pans that are better than the stock ones. Not cheap.

I guess I'm just not fully understanding what the differences are between the US machines and those shipped to your country. So they won't let you run with your headlight or side markers on in the daytime there? Yes you should be able to just wire in a switch for the headlight, I wouldn't cut the wire for the running lights though, you will want those for night riding. I don't see them giving you a big hassle for those being on? You say that you need a right hand switch, that's the kill and start switch on a US bike, what am I not understanding?

Why not just disconnect the running light wires in the head light bucket ?

The seat pan on my 900C is doing the same thing. It's like the plastic has been exposed to moisture or somesuch for a long time. The seat cover is in excellent shape, the foam is in good shape, but the pan has a grainular feel and cracks very easily. Maybe it's a kind of mold that attacks plastic... Confused
