after 6 + years on this forum , we have covered every aspect of these bikes
using the search function is very simple
use one key word
for valve shimming use shimming, dont use valve shimming it will bring up lots of valve topics not related to adjustments
too many key words add confusion
ohms will bring up charging issues most time, if not , this info is very important to engine operation as it includes the pulsers
it's quite annoying to be asked a question , then as a forum member myself, turn and use the search myself to bring up former postings about the tech questions and answer you with search results
try it, you will like it
we have free use of all honda factory manuals for 1979-1983 750/900/1000/1100 honda bikes..use them,
do not trust a clymer or a haynes manual..i have seen countless mistakes in these books, not only for our bikes but for other makes as well
thank you for your time |

I have found it is very easy to search for more than one search term and drill down to fewer returned items. You need to use the "Search for all Terms" button, otherwise it will just return all of the posts with the mention of any of the words. What you want is to limit the results to posts that contain all of the terms in each post. Keywords must have at least 3 characters.
You can also search just for one member's post on the keyword subjects, or without any keywords if you want all the posts from an author, by just adding the member's username to the author's field.
Go ahead and try the search below on your own computer and change some of the options around so you can see the changes the various options make:
I also use the "Display all results as Posts" button so it takes me right to the very post I'm searching for instead of the thread, and I ask for the first 1000 characters of posts so I can usually determine if it's the right post without actually having to click to it, or read the whole post.
There are also other options, if you know the post you're looking for is very old, you can sort by the ascending order of posts instead of descending, and many other options. It is a very powerful tool if you just take some time to learn to use all the features.
So, if you're not sure of any particular post that you're looking for (I do because I have already read almost every post on this forum), but you are just searching for information, you would still use multiple search terms, just be sure to use the "Search for all Terms" button, but also use the "Display all results as Posts" button for this, and also select "Return first: All Available characters of posts" so you'll see entire posts instead of partials. |
