Hello everyone. My hobby is bringing orphaned bikes back from the dead. I recently picked up a 1983 CB 1000 C that hasn't been registered since 2000. Because of what it is, I am more excited about this bike than I am for other bikes that I have resurrected. After a new battery and a quick carb jet cleaning, I was able to fire her up and get her running rough but running non the less. I am sure after rebuilding the carbs and installing new manifold boots she will be running well. This is my first multi carbed Honda but I have had 6 Kawasaki ZG1000 concours in the past so I am not scared of multi carbed bikes. The only real issue I will have getting he back on the road is that the fuel tank is pretty badly rusted. I had to cut the fuel cap off. I am going to try and clean it up with electrolysis. I am hoping to have her up and running in the next few weeks depending on how ambitious I am. Tires and my carb kits should be here by the weekend. |

Make sure you buy quality carb kits. The ones that are commonly found on places like Amazon are junk. A 100% tear down and Ultrasonic cleaning is the best way to get these carbs back to spec. Good luck. |
