Gentlemen,
We have suddenly had a rash of new owners with "new" bikes jumping on them without checking them out throughly and riding off into the sunset to suddenly find themselves stranded in the middle of nowhere wanting us to bail them out.
For all new owners of these old bikes, you should spend some time throughly checking the bike over when you first get it and doing all the service and maintenance recommended. You will also become familiar with the bike in the process and know where all the parts are located.
Then very gradually start riding the bike around the neighborhood increasing your distance from home each time until you are confident the bike will perform properly and not leave you sitting on the side of the road somewhere.
All new owners should read over and perform Sean's checklist BEFORE they ever leave the driveway. I personally spent three weeks on mine before I ever rode it.
Below is the link to Sean's post. READ IT and PERFORM the prescribed maintenance items. You will be glad you did.

Well, I am not to savvy on the high tech. stuff but I wanted to join this site since I now own an 81 CB900C. The reason I got it is because I previously owned an 81CB750C and loved it until I had to lay it down to avoid an auto that pulled out in front of me.
Hopefully I can add something to the mix and I look forward to sharing stuff like the pre-ride checklist in your message.
Thanks for the help. |

Good day, I hope the record and everything else has done it well, I've spent a long time reading this forum, I learned many things and today I decided to sign up, speak Spanish as I hope to communicate without problems.
I am a happy owner of a cb 750 custom 1980, was in poor condition aesthetically and mechanically, I just repaired but it is very pleasant, there had been only 125 and had a kawasaky change is phenomenal.
see you soon |

Hi. Just bought a 1979 CB750K 10th Anniversary Edition (LTD). Runs good so far, but I've only ridden it once. It's in the shop for new tires, oil, filters, dyno tuning. I'm anxious to get back in the saddle.
I also ride a 2008 Suzuki Burgman 400 Maxi-Scooter, which I like very much. I'm glad to find a Forum for my new bike, as BurgmanUSA and BurgmanRiders have been great sources of info exchange.
I'd like to help folks when I can, though I think I'll be learning much first!!!
My Best to All,
-John- |
