Had a young family move out of a rental of ours, left a project the guy was working on, he had told me that he was working on it for someone else but couldn't find parts or anything for it; after a year of no contact or responses from the person, he considered it abandoned, and left it up to me to do something with. I decoded the VIN and found it was an 83 CB1000C, so at this point I am not sure what to do with it either.
Im an ex car mechanic, computer geek, and run my own gun shop as well as manage a family outdoor power and equipment shop. I also have a boat ton of projects already with an active farm.
I am debating on whether to put it in the project pile, or, since its a member of the one year production club, I should part it out. Cruisers are my favorite bike and I love my VT1100. Not sure what this is missing or whats been stripped out of it yet either.
So any guidance or assistance offered is greatly appreciated. Would be neat to see it run again. |

Welcome to the site SCIllini ...
Sounds like you have a problem keeping your priorities straight . FUN is always first . LOL
You might post a few pics of the bike . Sides , front and rear .
We might be able to help identify what is missing .
Have you tried starting the motor ? |

Thanks folks. I will post another thread out of the welcome category with the pictures of the bike. I already know its missing rear tail lights, at least one main pigtail, has no battery, not sure if the engine is shot or not. Has gauges, rear grab bar, and I think both side covers.
Thanks again! |
