This is my second bike. Selling my '86 Savage to my brother.
WOW the CB has a lot of power compared to the 650 1-cylinder Savage.
Anyhow, she's in pretty good shape (the CB). It has the full fairing, but the windshield is pretty much opaque. I may have made it worse... I bought plastic polish which got it to about 50%. Then I grabbed my torch and it kinda worked and it kinda didn't. It's now at 60%. Screw it, I'm gonna cut it off to a 2" stub and ride without a windshield for now (until some funds are available. Savage didn't have one. I really like the look of them bullet fairings...). I would just take the fairing off, but the headlight and signals are part of it... sigh...
I had some progress on it last night until my wife told me there was a pipe leaking in the basement... another, deeper sigh...
SO! I took today off to fix the plumbing and work on my bike!
Just wanted to say "hello" before I head off to the hardware store for plumbing bits and the bike shop to see about a new front tire. Them little "crowsfeet" in between the treads. I don't trust them!
Seller said that last year he had the shop do: Front shock seals, brakes, carbs, battery, NEW SEAT!!!!, valves... maybe some other stuff...
I read all the newb postings. Lots of good info.
OK, honey says I can play with my bike after I fix this broken pipe.

These bikes didn't come stock with a fairing; well, except for the CB1100F which came with a bikini fairing. Anywho, my point is that you can remove the fairing and get back to a naked front end. You may need to add some missing parts to mount the headlight and turn signals, but that sort of stuff is usually easy to come by for your model. |

Welcome Chris... I too had one of those Savage one bangers... no comparison with your 750... You will like this bike. I second the motion to get rid of the fairing, stock naked is awesome... |
