new to bikes/exhaust ?s

I just got a 80CB750C. It runs fine except for there's a leak right at the top of the exhaust. I need to replace the gaskets for sure. Also it has pipes from another bike on it and I'd like to get the rights ones.

You guys have suggestions on where I can find new or used 4 to 4s or 4 to 2s for cheap? I've been looking on ebay but didn't see anything I liked. Do pipes for a 900C fit?

And any ideas about a quick fix for the gaskets would be much appreciated.

Welcome to DOHC Customs.
Good luck on finding a stock 4/4 system and a 900C system will hang too low on your 750 engine most likely scraping around turns.
The exhaust donuts are an easy swap that only takes a few minutes.
The Honda dealer is where I buy mine.

The 900c pipes will not fit, too long, different mounting points etc.

There are other aftermarket 4 into 1 and 4 into 2 pipes out there. Mainly MAC which most people say stands for 'Make Another Choice' but there are not a lot of choices.

Cheap and exhaust aren't usually used in the same sentence . But , I guess that depends on your description of cheap . Smile

The exhaust gaskets are readily available from your local dealer or ebay would be a bit less expensive .

Sometimes (often) you can buy a bike that someone has that they can't get going because they are inept like me (but that's beside the point) where the exhaust is good and you can get the whole damn bike for less than the cost of a good exhaust. So look around.

Do you guys what what the positives and negatives would be between a 4-1, a 4-2 or a 4-4 exhaust?

a 4/1 will lighten up the bikes weight by 25lbs, a 4/1 header does good things to a power curve, and sounds great at 9k rpm

And 4 into 2 seems to be a cross between 4/1 and 4/4 ...

I have 4/2 . I like the looks and the preformance is more than I need . They even sound pretty good . Kinda throaty but not too noisy . Kinda just right . Smile

I doubt that you would be able to find the set that I have , but others exsist , I'm sure .

Who says a 4/4 add 50lbs - Mine weights less than a decent 4/1 - admittedly it goes blue as soon as you hit the starter and barks like a rabid dog- but the 4 seperate pipes sound superb - and you can feel the kick outa them at 10 feet away ( dont get behind it at the lights !!!! )to be honest they only got made cos I dont get lucky with a set of new old stock like some on here Wink

and the only other thing available over here is a Motad system for the 900 F - a cheap replacement 4/1 that looks crap and rattles at the connections Razz
