I just joined the site and it is very cool. I have a 1981 CB 900C that I am fixing up. I bought it from someone who parked it in 1984 and it has 17000 miles on it. I almost got it going and working on brakes now. I look forward to getting it going to ride this summer.

Thanks for listening and I will be looking forward to speaking to everyone.
Alan

Welcome to the site Alan! This place can be the most useful thing in your motorcycle toolbox. We are always around to help!.

BTW, once you do get the engine running I suggest you check to see your if the charging system is functioning or you might get stranded someplace with a dead battery. Its a weak point on all these DOHC engines. Does your headlight get brighter when you rev the engine? (that would be a good thing) You can check the charging by putting a volt meter to the battery and watching the volts go from around 12v to 14+ as you rev the engine past 3000RPM or so.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing more from you.
